Law Library

The Alexandria Law Library is located at 520 King Street, Alexandria, Virginia in the basement level of the courthouse.

The mission of the library is to provide legal reference materials for the benefit of the entire Alexandria community, including attorneys, government employees, the judiciary and the general public.

Access to Westlaw, the Internet and the CD-ROM collection is available for FREE during the Library’s regular hours for patrons who perform the searches on their own. For those wishing to use the Librarian’s expertise in formulating a search strategy, a small fee may apply.

Alexandria Bar members who choose to open an account at the Library have the opportunity to participate in the document delivery service. This service is particularly useful for attorneys who require documents on short notice and are not able to get to the library. Simply call in your request and delivery will be made via fax or messenger.

The Library is open from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with extended hours for Alexandria Bar members on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings until 8:00 pm.

For more information about the Library’s services, contact Merrill Chertok, Law Librarian at (703)838-4077 or view their web page at www.alexandrialawlibrary.org.
